| Description: | This position will: develop software to convert and load client data from a variety of former ILS systems and database schemas; perform analysis of complex data conversion. Determine client and data requirements for project; communicate technical issues, current status and project timelines with customer, project management and other groups assigned to the project; write custom programs to make customer data compatible with the new ILS database structure; consult with and advise clients on their migration decisions.; develop and maintain migration packages; document migration processes; develop tools to be used to migrate and optimize data consulting services; develop and maintain department web site to be a central location to find documents, utilities and checklists on the migration processes; solve problems as they arise during a migration; provide internal support to the support and implementation teams by providing needed utilities and debugging software when necessary; perform extractions services for all SirsiDynix ILS packages; monitor incidents escalated to Data Services department; perform databases tuning and basic database administration; continually analyze and improve migration processes; upgrade existing utilities and develop new ones as new versions of the software are released; perform other duties as assigned. |
| Qualifications: | Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related experience plus 0-2 years experience in databases and software development. Experience with Java and C is required. Experience with Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, or Informix is preferred. |
