We're currently looking for a sharp, energetic and ambitious individual to join our team. We have a full-time, internship opportunity at our Provo, Utah office for an Instructional Designer.

| Duties: |
- Works daily with a Learning Management System (LMS) to create learning plans for SirsiDynix customers.
- Assists in Educational Services with tasks related to populating the LMS and maintaining its upkeep. Move new customers into the LMS and set up training plans for newly implemented customers.
- Develops, writes, and maintains information for internal and external audiences, porting new and existing information to an LMS. These materials being developed are educational purposes; they involve an understanding of instructional design methodologies.
- Researches available product information and creates instructionally designed content from those sources.
- Functions as a member of a cross-functional training team in an agile curriculum development environment; collaborates with other departments to create, develop, and maintain training-related concerns. Attends and reports at regular team meetings.
- Performs and implements technical and peer reviews of product documentation.
- Understands different user levels and writes to the appropriate level. Adheres to department standards, including templates and style guides.
- Provides status updates on projects as required by management. Coordinates with other team members on assigned projects.
- Conducts Needs Analysis, creates Learning Objectives, and incorporates instructional design into training curriculum.
- Develops working knowledge of product functional areas as assigned.
- Develops proficiency in the company’s internal processes and department guidelines.
- Creates other media and performs other duties as assigned.

| Qualifications: | Knowledge and Skills
Required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, and an aptitude for technical concepts.
- Ability to write for different audiences.
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
- Experience with Adobe Flash, Adobe Captivate, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with screen capturing, creating illustrations and diagrams, or graphics manipulation.
Preferred
- Experience using LMS software (SumTotal preferred).
- Familiarity with and experience in creating content for online delivery a plus.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, English, Journalism, or Communications is required.
Experience:
12-24 months of previous experience in instructional design, technical writing in the computer software industry, or developing and publishing training or procedural information. Experience in the library industry a plus. |
